Think you got it rough? This little baby starling’s first experience outside the nest was falling 15 ft to the ground and then meeting my dog and cat up close and personal. Then some dude got all in his face and took a picture of him. Ever read about how this type of Starling ended up all over the east coast? They can trace it back to some being released in Central Park by some dude in 1890. He wanted to introduce every bird Shakespeare mentioned in his writing to North America. These things took over everywhere in the east over the last 120 years.

Everything new will soon get old. To everything there is a season. We’re starving to death and then having cupcake wars.

I sit and think and come to the conclusion that the entire Universe as I know it was created to deprive me of sleep. That makes my blood boil, but at least I solved that riddle.

It’s odd to miss the bird’s eye view. I’m all down here in the details. My hands are in the dirt. Always planning and plotting. I’m just like the tomatoes at the moment. All talk and inexperienced. Just banking on the fruit that may or may not come. But just like the tomatoes, I’ll figure out something.

Psychademia: The Psychedelic Conference Documentary

I got a nice email from the folks at Johns Hopkins where I participated in a psilocybin study last year. They used a quote from my session write up. Its at about 7 minutes in. The whole documentary is pretty interesting. They are going at psychedelics from all angles and trying to get a little cohesion going, and more importantly, to get these powerful tools back on the docket for research.

Made it to Boston, but this might the view for most of the trip. Babies in hotel rooms…sorry to the folks next door. Hopefully they weren’t woken up every half hour or so like we were. Oh well…I brought some booze and I’ll find the best pizza Boston can deliver me by Thursday.
