Computer Buddha Sometimes I create band names in my head and then think about making music to match the name. I could have a lot of fun with Computer Buddah, or Compuddah.

Anybody need anything?
I’m feeling charitable. How can I help? Surely there is a better way to use this tumblr thing than just staring at it all day…

Guild guitars
Just picked up a beauty from one of my favorite acoustic guitar makers…1976, All mahogany with a bowed back.  I think I am already noticing a problem with my so called guitar store. We are going to have trouble actually getting rid of any of these things because I want them for ourselves.

Decoded
You almost had me last night, Decoded. I found myself getting swept into the ultimate 2012 show. One in which every possible shitstorm was not only interlocking, but plausible. Climate change, floods, droughts, electrical storms, solar flares, galactic alignment…it was masterfully put together. one fed into the next. I was almost starting to feel a little panic. Until, of course, they cut to...

Opening a Guitar "Store"
My brother and I have found some places to get a hold of some amazing old instruments, mostly guitars. Things like old archtop and parlor guitars from the 20s and 30s. Some will be fine just the way they are, and that’s cool. Some will need some light repairs, and we plan to do those. He’s been building mandolins, so has all the tools and whatnot….clamps and sanders and whatnot....

I had forgotten just how much of my humor
was directly stolen from Bevis and Butthead. To someone my age, its incredibly awesome to have that show back on again, just the way it used to be, almost feeling like a re-run, but not. Butthead imitating Jersey Shore is some of the funniest shit around. Uhhhhh……what?

“the best part about her food is the flavor.”
– Really? Really Food Network? The best part about the food is how it tastes, huh? You guys are really taking new ground over there, aren’t you? About the time I am fed up with something like Iron Chef and the pretentiousness of it all, I am blown away by one of their ideas. I want to hate it,...

They tell you…drink more water. Its good for you. So I drink. And I drink. and I drink. And all I do is keep peeing it all away. The more I drink, the more I pee.  If I need the water so much…if its so good for me…why do i keep peeing it all away? And how much evidence has been done regarding one wearing out one’s pisser? I only have one pisser after all. That concerns me a...

I clone myself, teach myself everything I know until I am the exact age I am now, then upload both of our consciousnesseses and then merge them into one, and then put that in the clone. I can then get rid of my old self, while simultaneously cloning a new future self. Then both me and my clone consciousness can teach the new clone everything we know and when it gets to the exact age we decided to...

I'm no genius
but a system that automatically signs you back up for the same health benefits you had the prior 10 years seems to be a better idea than automatically cancelling my coverage. i forgot to enroll. a simple mistake. but we sent you an email, they say. But you guys send 15 emails a day, I say. ever heard of the boy who cried wolf? that’s you guys. Not to mention I get about 150 emails a day, so...

tonight's test
I’ve been behaving lately. Walking lots, eating less, drinking way less alcohol, reading good things…inspiring things. Listening to good music, drawing, meditating. I’ve lost weight and look better than I have in years (I didn’t have much to lose, but it did make a difference…i kind of have a six pack re-emerging). Now I hit the combat zone. Holiday parties. I have...

And what you’re after is not some behemoth, that will tear through your nets, follow them and drag you in your little boat, you know, into the abyss, nor are what we’re looking for a bunch of sardines...

shorterexcerpts: Neuroscientists at the University of California, Berkeley, have figured out a way of recreating visual activity taking place in the brain and reconstructing it using YouTube clips. The team used functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) and computational models to decode and reconstruct visual experiences in the minds of test subjects. So far, it’s only been used to...
